Gutter Guy, Inc, is based in Jensen Beach, Florida. We provide gutter services to homes in the town and the surrounding area. Jensen Beach is classified as a census-designated place rather than a town, but it is home to more than 10,000 people. It’s considered a part of the much larger Port St. Lucie Metro Area, which includes St. Lucieand Martin Counties.

The History of Jensen Beach

Jensen Beach started as a small farming community. The village mostly exported pineapples. The main settlement was founded in 1881 when John Laurence Jensen arrived from Denmark. The town really started to grow when the Florida East Coast Railway extended through Jensen Beach in 1894. The plantations started shipping so many pineapples across the country that a year later, Jensen Beach was the pineapple capital of the world. A factory even had to be built to handle production.

Historical Sites and Things to Do

With a name like Jensen Beach, you’d expect to find some amazing beaches on the Atlantic, and you will. The largest and most popular beach is Jensen Sea Turtle Beach. It’s over on Hutchinson Island, the island to the east of the mainland. Many people visit the area to see the sea turtle nests, although don’t expect to get too close. Marine biologists work the area and do have the authority to close sections of the beach to protect nests.

This beach is about a 15-minute drive from our offices, depending on traffic. There are some other beaches along Highway A1A, but Sea Turtle is considered the best.

As far as parks go, you’ll find a number of unique areas to visit. Indian Riverside Park is less than two miles from our location. If you don’t mind driving a little farther, there’s the Savannas Preserve State Park to the north.

The Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve is located off the coast to the east. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is a little farther away (about 45 minutes), but it’s worth visiting if you have time.

How to Find Us

We’re located at 1130 NE Dixie Highway. To get to us from either Port St. Lucie in the north or West Palm Beach in the south, simply take Highway 1 to Dixie Highway and then head east. While there are a number of ways to reach Highway 1, it’s really the only way to get to us because the St. Lucie River separates our little part of Jensen Beach from the surrounding area.
